Running Autodesk 3ds Max 2011

Hello, I have trouble starting up Autodesk 3Ds Max 2011.

The problem appears to be connected to the ribbons which appear to be missing since the last time I have successfully ran the application.

I have already tried switching GUI, but that doesn’t seem to do any good. The error message I get is:

XAML Parse Error

Error parsing Xaml file: Root element is missing.

Any idea on how to work this out?

Thanks very much in advance.

The application is having problems in parsing a specific file which happens to be missing. I don’t know if you accidentally deleted the file, you have an incomplete installation or the application just went like that without having a clue.

Since the error is pointing to a missing file, just uninstall it.

You can install it back again later if you want to.

After removing the application, run a disk check on your computer to see any errors in the hard drive that might cause the program to give this error.

  1. Right click on drive C and then select Properties.
  2. Select Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now button.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors and then hit Start.

You can also use other disk utility application if you have any. You can install the application again after the disk check. Run the application after the installation to see if still gives the same error. Just replace the application if it continues to throw the same error again and again.
