Certainly, you cannot delete ringtones from your phone that came pre-installed.

But those that you purchased from iTunes and saved in your phone can surely be deleted anytime.

There are many different ways of deleting ringtones from your Smartphone either permanently or temporarily.

But you can only do this from a computer and not from your mobile phone.

See the steps below.

  • Open iTunes from your computer then connect your Smartphone using the USB cable.
  • In iTunes under Devices, click your iPhone.
  • Click Summary tab then put a check on "Manually manage music and videos".
  • Click on the small arrow on the left of your iPhone’s icon. This lists several of the folders saved in your phone containing books and media.
  • Click on the Ringtones folder.
  • Select the ringtone you want to delete. If you want to delete several ringtones, press and hold the CTRL key while clicking on multiple files.
  • Press the Backspace or the Delete key from your keyboard to immediately delete the files.
