Hello all, I use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. Yesterday I had to go for an AVG update and when the update was finally completed, I lost my Firefox and Google home pages and the favorites and bookmarks were gone too. I need help to recover them back. Thanks in advance for the help!

To recover the old data in firefox follow the below process.

1. To locate the Mozilla Firefox stored back up information type about:support in browser URL box and press enter. Then under the application basics click on show folder. This will open a folder with all files related to your firefox browser. Copy the required files in a separate folder like bookmarkbackups folder, webapps folder, session-storebackups etc. Note that do not copy all the folder. Because there is an issue with your previous browser so if you copy all the files the issue will not be resolved.
2. Next, you need to create a new profile in Firefox. For this, exit from your current Firefox browser. Then To create a new profile go to run and type firefox.exe -p and then click OK.
3. Now in the Firefox-choose user profile tab, click on Create Profile and follow the wizard to complete the Firefox new user profile creation.

4. Once the new profile is created go to the new profile folder same way mentioned in step 1. The copy paste the files you have saved in the first step to the new profile folder. Then you will see all your previous firefox setting.
