Hi all, I user Google chrome as my default browser and just like all the other users, I have a lot of bookmarks saved already. I am looking for an extension/plug-in which could rename my tabs by the name they were saved in the bookmarks. Two questions; is it actually possible or not? If yes, then please let me know how it is. Thanks!

Hi,

For renaming the tabs to display the bookmark name below given are the steps to be followed:

  • From Chrome webstore download and install the extension called "Tab Title Tweaker".
  • Open the chrome://extensions  in chrome to define the set of rules.
  • Tab Tweaker Options page will be displayed.
  • You can use the below options to rename and save the rules with which your tabs will be displayed:
  • “rename “ – to completely replace the tab title with your own text
  • “prefix” – to add text to the beginning of the tab page title
  • “suffix” – to add text to the end of the tab page title
  • “revert” – to reset the title to its original value

One sample rule to be used is given below.

For example : rename google.com goog

Create the rule and then save the same in My Rules tab.
