  • First step is open the list in your Excel file just make sure each entry is in its own row.
  • Now click the Data tab found in the left side of the window. And it will bring up a data menu on the screen, then look for data  tools in the toolbar section.
  • Now select the range of the cells you want to delete duplicates, by doing this you will drag a box around the data, or you can select the entire row within a single click that corresponds by a letter / number  then to the column or row,
  • Then click the remove duplicates button, by doing that a dialog box will come up  and ask what column you want the duplicates to be removed, once down click ok, then duplicate data will be deleted.

  • If you want find the duplicate in A column of the Excel sheet apply this formula
  • If you have header apply this formula =countif(A$2:A2,A2)
  • No header apply this formula  =countif(B$2:B2,B2) and drag fully. where 2 or greater than 2 is duplicate.

In Microsoft Office Excel, if you have a worksheet that has duplicate numbers and you want to remove them, here’s how to do it. First, select the cells you want to check for duplicates. Next, go to “Home” tab then click “Conditional Formatting,” “Highlight Cells Rules” then “Duplicate Values.” In “values with” box, select the formatting you want to apply to the duplicate values then click “OK.”

Next up is to remove the duplicates. Select the cells that have duplicate values you want to remove. Next, go to “Data” tab then click “Remove Duplicates” and then under “Columns,” check or uncheck the columns where you want to remove the duplicates then click “OK.”
