Recently I have tried to make a remote login to another of my colleague’s workstation in my office. Both our computers are in the same network. But whenever I provide with user name and pass, I have encountered a problem with an error message

Remote Desktop Disconnected

The remote computer requires Network level Authentication, which your computer does not support. For assistance, contact your system administrator or technical support.

I need immediate help from someone to solve this problem.

Dear Sir,

Here you did not mention that which operating system you are using with your computer and your colleagues computer. I think both computers are running with windows XP with service pack 2. If so then please see below different solution.

1. Please install service pack 3 in the both computer and then restart. Make sure that Remote Desktop shearing service is enabled in both computers. Now download Fix it tool.

2. For this solution you need to edit the registry. Click start then click RUN. Then write regedit and press enter. Registry editor window will open. Now press Ctrl + F then find window will open. Write Security Packages here and then press enter. When Security Packages will come then right click on Security Packages then click modify. Another new window will come. There is some value already there. Leave them as it is and at the bottom of the previous value please write tspkg and click OK.

Again press Ctrl + F and search SecurityProviders. Once SecurityProviders show, then right button click on the SecurityProviders and click Modify. Another new window will come. There is some value already there. Leave them as it is and at the bottom of the previous value please write credssp.dll. Please make sure that if any coma or separator is used with the previous value then you also use the same just before credssp.dll. Now click ok to save.

Now close registry editor window and restart your computer.

The problem is with the server side not with your side. The server administrators need to provide relevant authentication for your account. As you know when using a server due to security concerns there are many security levels applied. So to work on a server you are definitely going to need some special permission provided to your account and that can only do by the server administrators. In this case what you can do is contact the server support people and let them know about your issue.

I am sorry you have received this error but hopefully this will assist you so it does not happen again. In order to eliminate this error we are going to adjust some things in your Registry. First you will need to make sure you have service pack 3 installed. Now, after clicking on the "Start Menu" go to "Run" and enter "regedit".

This will then take you into your Registry and allow you to make changes. However, before you ever make changes to your registry always make sure you have a backup in case something happens and you need to do a "Restore". We will need to locate the following entry

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa. Now right-click and choose modify on the "Security Packages". You can now enter "tspkg" in the "Value" box and enter "ok". Next locate the entry, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSecurityProviders. Now right-click on the "SecurityProviders" and click modify. You can now enter "credssp.dll" in the vale box, make sure to leave all other data alone and click "ok". Lastly, close your Registry and restart your computer and you should be able to access things remotely.
