Received an Error message after entering and saving a new glossary item

Please someone tell me why this is happening to me! After creating a glossary entry, I needed to save it. Then, when I clicked “Save” I got an error message which has nothing to do with it. This is causing returning to the entry page with three errors.

Server not found

Firefox can’t find the server at view.php

• Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com

• If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.

• If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

How do I save an entry without seeing this error on my screen?

Hi Valerie!

Try to read the possible causes and solutions below:

Method 1. You are experiencing this error because of internet connection problem. A sudden data connection inconsistency will create this message. If there is any problem with your internet connection contact your Internet Service Provider.

Method 2. The website is under construction/update or the page has expired. If this is the cause of your problem, try to wait for the administrators of the site to finish the site update and try to connect again.

Method 3. Bypass the firewall restrictions of your computer.

a. Type a Web Proxy server of your choice (e.g. Proxify) in your browser.

b. Once the Web Proxy opens, type the website you want to access (in your case server at view.php).

c.  Hit enter.

Method 4. 

a. Type "about:config" in the address bar on a new tab and press Enter.

b. Right- click the Preference List and select New Boolean.

c. Type "network.dns.disablePrefetch" in the preference name and click Ok.

d. Select True as the value and click Ok.

That error is occurring because you may have lost your connection to the internet, and therefore you will need to troubleshoot the issues that might have caused that.

  • First, if you are using cable network to connect to the internet, you will need to check the cables and ensure that they are connected and working properly.
  • If you are using wireless network, check and ensure that you have a strong signal that will enable fast access to the web page you are trying to open.
  • If you're using a modem, ensure that it is not disconnected.
