Hi shellyylove

You can see it.

OSI model is not dependent on any architecture of the Network and Open system is the one that allows two different systems to communicate with each other prior to the underlying architecture therefore OSI Model is called Open System.

I will try to explain this briefly for you. OSI was intended to be used by all vendors that is why it is called Open System. Network vendors had proprietary protocols at that time that were meant to work only with their own software and hardware.

This made very expensive, complicated and wasteful to support multiple types of software and hardware. OSI was also meant to improve networking and it can be applied to everyone. I hope I have given you all the information you need on the topic.

Good day!!

I will explain this in the easiest language so that all can understand.

First is that OSI is an abbreviation for Open Systems Intercommunication which is a product of the International organization for standardization.

It is called an open system because the initial purpose that saw its birth was to have a system that would allow service to be offered, and flow in layers according to the functions. This free flow of service was referred to as open hence the system  is referred to as open system

The open system: systems based on standards so universally accepted that they allow combinations of hardware and software from literally thousands of independent vendors. And it was intended to be used by all manufacture.

Defining interoperability between network devices and software. Due to its user-friendly, advance techniques, open source and wide range of handling and operations OSI called Open System.

Thank you. Hope you understand.

An open system is a set of protocols that allows any two different systems to communicate no matter what the underlying architecture is.OSI model stands for Open Systems Interconnection model.

It consists of 7 layers namely application, presentation, session, transport, network, data link and physical layers. Each layer relies on the next lower layer to perform the required function. OSI is called the open system as it is open for connecting with other systems.

It is a common framework for understanding LAN/WAN networking. It is basically an approach to network design. The word “open" signifies that the model deals mainly with connecting open systems.
