The Pentium M is a family of 32-bit x86 microprocessors and forms a part of the Intel notebook platform under the Centrino brand. The Pentium M processors had a maximum TDP of around 5–27 W which depends on the model of the processor, and are mostly of use in laptops. They initially evolved from the core of the last branded CPU by adding the FSB interface of Pentium 4, which is an improved instruction decoding and also issuing front end, SSE2, and a large amount of cache. The 1st ever Pentium M–branded CPU, was followed by Dothan.
