Hello to all,

I am using OS windows 7 x86 service pack. Recently I bought a Buffalo external ministration 3.0 drive for some of my very useful programs. But when I tried to install this external hard drive, a driver installation error occurred on the screen. The screenshot of the error is attached below:

RAMDISK Utility

I uninstalled the drive and then tried to reinstall it again many times but I was met with the same error every time. What can be the possible reasons of the error?

Your guidance is required in this regard.

Waiting for your replies.

Regards.

Clinton

try right clicking, go in to properties an run this program in compatibility mode for windows 7 see if that works.

Since the external hard drive you have requires installing its software then the next to check is the software’s technical specifications. You should verify if the software you are installing is compatible with your operating system. You really won’t be able to install your external hard drive’s application if it is not compatible with your operating system.

Since most of the hardware device comes in a package, check the printed information on the box for the software’s system requirements. If this information is not available anywhere in the box, check the documents that came with the device inside the box. It’s possible that your installation is missing some components required by the software like for example, Microsoft .NET Framework. My sister has a Western Digital mobile hard drive and this program I mentioned is required before installing the hard drive’s software.
