QuickBooks Unable to Open Company File

Hello TechyV experts!

I havve downloaded  a QuickBooks Company File Diagnostic Tool software to deal with this error. I ran the diagnostic tool and it said no problem detected in the company file (that I was previously trying to open).

But when I tried to open the file again, the same error came up. I’m confused at what’s going on here.

If the tool can’t detect any problem, what is this error coming up for?

Hoping for your ideas and suggestions regarding this error.

Thanks!

Warning

QuickBooks is unable to open this company file.

It may have been opened by another user. You should ask that user to switch to multi-user

Mode so you can both use the company file at the same time.

The file could also be located in a read-only network folder. If it is, ask your system

Administrator  to make the file accessible (-6073,-816).

There is really no problem with the function of the application. The error that you see every time you open the company file is not with the application. Before you access or open the company file, be sure that no one is currently or still using it.

Be sure that the file is not opened in any other computer workstations within your network. If you are sure that there is no other one accessing the file besides you, check the file’s directory or folder’s properties if it is shared as read-only.

  1. Right click on its folder and then select Properties.
  2. Click Sharing tab.
  3. Under Network sharing and security, be sure that Allow network users to change my files option is checked together with the Share this folder on the network option and then click OK.

To avoid this problem happening in the future, make it a policy to access the file in multi-user mode.

Hi,

Maybe the QuickBooks files have an corrupted files and then try to download again make sure that you downloaded the QuickBooks properly and then try to check the software there an infected files from the your system then scan your computer if there an viruses or maybe spyware just simply check on that and then download the tune up utilities or maybe try this just simply download the error repair tool then install that to your PC and then after installing the software you just simply restart your machine and then scan the system and repair the found errors to your computer just simply check on that.
