Hi Landon Perez,

Well, ActiveX control error 46 has been a known topic in the forums. It is common also to users who are using Windows Vista Operating System. They are prompted with an error message saying “Error 46: Quicktime could not load of find QuickTime ActiveX control” whenever they try to open Quick Time. Although they have not exactly locate what is causing this problem, they have already found a repair to get rid this kind of problem. Here is how to do it:

1.    You must have a tool to manipulate registry permissions through command lines. I suggest you download SubInAcl.exe. Here is the link. From this link, download subinacl.msi.

2.    After downloading the file, install it to your computer.

3.    Download reset.cmd from the attachment below:

Copy and paste the attached code to the reset.cmd. Change the value for YOURUSERNAME to your Windows user  account name.

4.     After downloading the file, save it in C:Program FilesWindows Resource KitsTools

5.    Click Start Button -> Type Reset.cmd -> press Enter

That error usually appears if you are using QuickTime Player on Microsoft Windows 7. Try the previous post by Mathew Joni especially for users with Windows 7. But if it doesn’t work and you are using Windows Vista, upgrade your operating system to Service Pack 2. Download and install Windows Vista Service Pack 2. This is the latest and very last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows Vista.

After upgrading to Service Pack 2, reinstall QuickTime Player. Download and install Revo Uninstaller Freeware. Use the supplied password to unpack. Once installed, launch Revo Uninstaller, select QuickTime Player from the list, and then click “Uninstall”. Follow the instructions to completely uninstall the program. Restart your computer after this. After booting, go to CCleaner Free Download then download and install CCleaner Free.

Once installed, launch CCleaner and clean your system. Restart your computer and install QuickTime Player back. You can also download QuickTime 7.7.6. Use the supplied password to unpack. If you want to register CCleaner, download CCleaner Registration Codes. Use the supplied password to unpack then open “license-keys_readme.txt” with Notepad and follow the instructions.
