Hi friends,

I am an architect and I purchased a version of ArchiCAD after a lot of trials at my home.

Now when I tried to install that on my office computer, I was shocked to see the error which states that:

I first astonished to see it, but later I tried to fulfill its requirements. I have the latest quick time player installed but it is still giving me the same problem.

I don’t know how to tackle it as my computer has quick time player 7 installed which is the latest one.

In my country, I don’t have access to the help line facility for ArchiCAD.

Kindly help me.

Sorry, ArchiCAD cannot run on this computer

ArchiCAD Environment

Sorry, ArchiCAD cannot run on this computer.

Problem: Quick Time is outdated or missing.

ArchiCAD requires QuickTime 7.0 or later, image compressors and decompresses.

Make sure you have QuickTime installed with the “Recommended” option chosen at installation and not with the minimal option selected.

Uninstall Quck Time then reinstall it with the recommended option.

You must also run the GSQTcom.exe to register it.

If you have this problem with ArchiCAD, you are probably using the STAR(T) edition because all other versions don’t require QuickTime. Before installing any program, make sure your computer is fully compatible with the program and you can do it by checking on its system requirements. ArchiCAD STAR(T) supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 all 64-bit.

32-bit Microsoft Windows is not supported. It requires 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor, 4 GB RAM, 5 GB free hard drive space, video card with 256 MB video RAM and OpenGL 2.0 support, and 1024 x 768 screen resolution. For Mac, it supports OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite, and 10.11 El Capitan. QuickTime 7 and Java 1.7.0 or higher are prerequisites.

You can download the latest Java for ArchiCAD on Download Java for ArchiCAD. For QuickTime, download QuickTime 7.7.6. Use the supplied password to unpack. Once unpacked, run the installer to install QuickTime. This should fix the problem. To register QuickTime, open “QuickTimePro-license-key.txt” with Notepad and register.
