Firewall is mainly used by people for protection of computer from the threats which comes and hiding through internet gateway, or when you insert a pen drive or any USB device to the computer. It helps to detect any threats which tries to push it to the computer.

Firewall protects it from getting into the computer. And then the antivirus comes to its help. It identifies the threat and ask the user of the computer to delete the threat file. And then it scans the whole computer and the USB device thoroughly. Firewall also protects some application software when you try to install it in the computer. Sometimes with application software virus tries to enter the computer therefore the firewall prompts you or warns you from whether you really want to go further installing or want to stop right there and abort the installing process.

People mainly use firewalls with antivirus.

Kaspersky and McAfee and AVG, etc. These are all good software which comes with double power of antivirus and firewall protection.

Hope it has help your query.

Thanks.
