I would say that the recent data center technology is the power assure technology, which is a Holistic Power Management that has been made is such a way that will be able to collect power usage data every minute from servers, and it will as well as shift in the utilization and the unexpected shifts in Internet traffic from applications. In case the Internet traffic increases, then it will imply that more servers will be dynamically switched on, and vice versa is also true.
You will find that most server companies do not publish power-consumption information for servers in the event that they are turned on, or they are running at idle, or at full load, and that makes not to know how much power they are really using anywhere in the data center.
