I just installed Windows 7 today from Windows XP. But the problem is, after the installation the fan of my laptop seems to be running all the time. The good thing is my laptop doesn't overheat unlike before. But I need to set the fan to run naturally. Is there an option for setting the fan to run correctly?

I can't figure out what is the exact problem that you are facing here. Is it that you are worried about the fan that it is not turning off after you installed windows 7 on your computer?

  1. If that's the case then proceed to the following steps.
  2. Go to desktop properties and from the display select advance.
  3. Now disable the Aero Desktop theme from the options and apply all the settings.
  4. Go to your power management options from the control panel.
  5. You will see a fan option there. Select the targeted fan temperature to somewhere around 50 to 60 degree.
  6. This way the fan will only run when the temperature of the laptop increase to about 50 degree.
