Hi,

Is there a way to avoid permission and authentication checks to make edits to a folder and it content? I have a program that rename, duplicate and relocate files from one folder to another. The challenge is that some folders deny me access. What can I do to turn off the excess security that is Windows 7 has?

Thanks in advance.

You are encountering a problem because the Action feature on Windows 7 has been activated which is a security measure, hence the deny permission & authentication. To deactivate it,

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Select the System Icons.
  3. On that page Select Action Center.
  4. On the drop-down select Off to deactivate Action Center.
  5. Click OK to close the dialog box & save the settings.

Here is a screenshot of the deactivation on Control Panel,

That should enable you work on your files again without difficulty.
