It is the scenario of 27th February. I use to ignore notification and keep using Task Manager. The next day on February 28th, I came up with McAfee Consumer Support and awarded him full control of my computer system so they can sort out the mess I'm facing.

During the procedure I realized the red circle appeared on the ToolBars and Extensions Bar. By the time I've never experience such look. I am clear about it that initially the Add-ons were enabling but not now. While I was viewing the screen showing McHlp 32 exe — Application Error pop-up sign appeared.

At that time I started McAfee Virtual Technician before making interaction with McAfee Consumer Support though the representatives raised the following message:

! Problem: Product configuration XML file is missing — Session ID 37890195

Furthermore, the notification error with McAfere Consumer Support rose up because of lesser RAM while it requires more to done with process. Seriously talking, 512 MB RAM is sufficient to deal with such system.

Though, this really makes no sense to me whether there is a relation between RAM, McHlp32 exe — Application Error, and McAfee Virtual Technician.

Overall, I've got three questions to put on:

1. The McHlp.32 exe – Application Error really exists? The notification contains the following strings.

"The instruction at "0x02fefa2b" referenced memory at "0x02fefa2b".The memory would not be "read".

I'm faced with two options, (a), Click OK to exit the application and (b) Cancel to check application. While I use to click on Nothing which results in termination of Task Manager.

2. If you think McHlp.32 really exists so can you please prompt me whether I've taken right step in previous quiz or not?

3. May I find another way to sort out the XML file for product configuration without increasing the real memory RAM? I think, this question needed to be placed in different category, though, if you suggest so.

Reinstalling a program would really help if the error message tells of a missing file on the system. Uninstall your McAfee application from your computer then check your machine for any possible errors.

Use a disk utility application to check the system. For a much thorough diagnostics on the system, use a disk utility application like Norton Utilities or PC Tools Performance Toolkit.

After checking your system, install your McAfee software again. This will fix any corrupted files in the installation and will restore its settings back to default.

After reinstalling the application, update it then restart your computer. After restarting the system, check your screen if you will still see the red circle again.

The error you receive about a certain reference point in the memory that can not be read is only a temporary error that is usually caused by a conflict in the application. This is not permanent and can be fixed by restarting the system.
