My Nokia N97 display light flickers all the time and I cannot change my theme as it shows as "Corrupted File". Once I take a photo I cannot delete any of the photos as it shows that there is a "Configuration Error".

  1. Most occasions the "Corrupted File" error is a result of a faulty memory card. If you are using a memory card and your themes are installed on the card, try installing one of your themes into the phone memory instead. If that works, it only means that your memory is already corrupted and that you should replace it with a new one.

  2. As for the “Configuration Error” issue, what you can do is to try and delete the photos using the Nokia Photos Application. If you don’t have it installed on your PC, obtain a copy either from the Nokia CD or from the website and install it on your PC. Once installed, use your data cable to connect your phone to the computer and run the software. At the top left corner of the window look for the name of your phone and click it. Once it turns green, the photos on your phone will appear. You can then select which photos you want to delete and hit the “Delete” button on your keyboard.

If you still encounter issues despite trying the above suggestions, you might want to try consider reformatting or hard resetting your phone.

Hi Minhaz77,

As you said that you have a problem with your phone Nokia n97 check your operating system did you upgrade it to Symbian one if so check out the important and required software to be updated in our software update menu of your phone. If not connect to the computer and check out for the updates with the help of Nokia Ovi suite.

Once you update your phone your phone gets restarted and you can use your phone without any configuration error. By updating your phone all the corrupted files can be deleted with ease.

If you have a Nokia N97 and it is no longer working properly, the best solution to fix it back to a working state is to do a hard reset. To do a hard reset on a Nokia N97 phone, first, make sure it is turned on. Next, press and hold the asterisk key (*) + 3 key + Call + Power buttons simultaneously until the Nokia logo appears.

Next, enter the phone’s lock code. If you haven’t change the lock code, the default lock code is without quotes “12345”. Your phone should reset and restart automatically after this. See if this works. Factory resetting your phone will erase all your data. Make sure to back up all important files on your memory card before doing the hard reset.

Remove the SIM card and the memory card before starting the actual reset.
