I am having problems locating the serial number of my laptop from the hard disk. The laptop is an Acer 6930G using Windows Vista. What procedure can I use to read the computer’s serial number from the hard disk? I am stuck and do not know how to go about this.

Hi Jaylonomarion,
There are two ways to find out your Acer laptop's serial number. The first is to look for the serial number located on the bottom side of the laptop. It should be on a while label and it should be 22 characters in length.
The second way is to press F2 during POST (Power On Self Test) when you turn on the laptop, then you may access the BIOS where you can find the laptop's serial number.Â

The first thing you should do is that when your system boots up, press F1 to go to boot menu or BIOS menu. From there you can find your serial key. The second one is that look at the bottom side, there will be a sticker stating your serial NUM.
