Problems installing OS X Lion on Mac book Pro 2006

I have dual xenon processors with 1TB hard drive on my computer. The rest is original, with no SSDS. And yet I am still having problems installing OS X Lion on my Mac Pro 2006 1. The update for all software was ended.

I downloaded OS X Lion from the app store and then installed it on my PC. When the installation is completed, the computer restarted and then the apple logo appears first on screen with a black circle started to spin.

This lasted for hours before the circle stops spinning. This has gone on all night and by daybreak the situation is the same. Has this experience occurred to anyone else? Please let me know.

Maybe you did not format the hard drive before installing the newly downloaded OS X Lion and the previous operating system was still installed. Or maybe after downloading OS X Lion you just installed it right away without uninstalling the previous operating system or doing a clean format of the hard drive.

This usually causes conflicts on the newly installed operating system.

To try to solve the problem, format your hard drive completely and then install OS X Lion. Be sure the installation of the new operating system finishes successfully so you will not have an incomplete installation of the operating system. Incomplete installation causes the computer to boot very long or to function differently as normal.

If the installation displays an error, be sure to read it carefuly so you will know what part of the computer has the problem.
