Hello and Good Day Friends!

I need your help in cleaning internet explorer on my laptop. I am using Internet Explorer version 9 and I want it to be cleaned every time the browser is closed. I want to clear my history and not store my personal information like emails, usernames and especially passwords. Can anyone please tell me how to completely clean my Internet Explorer browser? Do I need to use third party softwares? Can you give me a list of tools and softwares that are free and available for download? It will be better if you can recommend the software you’re already using.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Alison,

Clearing temp files, history, cookies and browser caches on exit can be done on most web browsers and even easier on IE 9 (internet explorer).

1. Open internet explorer and navigate to the top right corner, just below the exit button you will find the   tools tab, click on it.

2. On the tools tab, navigate to internet options and click on it. Should be the second last option.

3. Click on the advanced tab, on settings, under security, find “empty temporary internet files folder when  browser is closed”

4. Click OK and you’re done.

If you want to clean all your temporary internet files from all your web browsers at once I can recommend “ccleaner”.it is very powerful and effective and also FREE!!

Download it from this link:http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Hi Alison,

It’s not really necessary to get a third party application to clean up your IE 9. I have a better way to do it. First things first, Set your IE back to its default settings.
– From your IE go to Tools > Internet Options > “Advanced” Tab > Click “Reset”.
– Check the box “Delete Personal Settings” > Click Reset

Here’s how you set your browser to delete browsing history when you exit IE.
– Go to Tools > Internet Options
– Under General Tab look for “Delete Browsing history on Exit” then Check.
– Click “Delete” Button then check all the boxes

Hope this helps!
