Hello all,

I got a problem. The Windows 8 user Preview is downloaded like a Web Installer named Windows8-ConsumerPreview-setup.exe.

But on my Pc the Web Installer collapsed while trying to check Application Compatibility. What should i do now? I need your help. Thanks.

Application compatibility issues are too many to count and it's too hard to pronounce myself on this matter (being a Release Preview product). But what I can definitely say is that you're better off downloading the *.iso file and putting it on a thumb drive or a DVD than with the web installer.

This is where you can download the *.iso files from, both in 32-bit and 64-bit:

32-bit: -- http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=251533

64-bit: -- http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=251532

Once you've downloaded the file you desire, burn it with your favorite burning ROM software (Windows 7 has a built in one) or download the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (http://images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/en-us/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe) and make a bootable thumb drive, following the on-screen instructions.

I hope this solves your problem.

Dear User,

I would recommend you to install this using a USB stick. It’s so easy. And you can avoid errors such as the one you have mentioned above,

Here are the links for both windows 8

64 bit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=251532

And

32 bit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=251533

And download this USB tool too. http://images2.store.microsoft.com/prod/clustera/framework/w7udt/1.0/uk/Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe

Once you have all these, follow these simple steps.

1.       Install the USB tool in your current windows operating system. And browse to windows file you have downloaded.

2.       Then select the correct device (USB stick) from the menu. Then click Begin Copying

3.       Wait until it completes

4.       When it is completed you can use this stick as a bootable device and install windows from there

Thank you
