Hi Ericson Eric

By default windows 7 will opens any .gif files in Internet Explorer. If your internet explorer has some crashes, this .gif files will not open correctly. Any how this will become quite problematic when you want to view .gif images

Solution

Try to open your .gif images with Windows Photo viewer.

Go to properties of your .gif image by right clicking on the image & click change in “Opens with” window, open other program and select windows photo viewer as default program to open your .gif images

Hope this solution will rectifies your problem

This happened to me several times in Windows XP and now in Windows 7. The image is viewable on the website and is displayed properly. When I right-click the image and save it on my computer, the file saves with the correct file format which is JPG. Now, when I view it with Windows Explorer, the image doesn’t show and an error appears instead.

This problem happens because there are websites that when displaying images, they convert the file into the WebP format. This file format doesn’t display on Microsoft Windows, unless you have a program for it, because it is meant for web browsers only. Unfortunately, there’s no use downloading the file again because there is literally no problem with the file, it just doesn’t display outside the browser.

To fix the problem, go to Convert WebP to JPG, upload the file or the image you downloaded and convert it. I tried it and it worked. You can download the file immediately after conversion.
