Problem with upgrading from MS Office 2003 to 2010

Hello experts

I want to upgrade fromMicrosoft office 2003 to Microsoft office 2010. When I tried to do the upgrade I encountered a problem. I cannot install the software application, and what’s worse is when I try to install it I am not getting any information on the error, not even an error code. Is there anyone who has encountered a similar problem and can give me any suggestions on how to fix this issue that I am facing at the time of installation? I do not want to use MS office 2003 again. Now I want to know why Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 did not show an error message during setup.

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Daisy ,

–>The problem you are facing is normal when we are upgrading from 2003 to 2010 , So suggestion is to Completely remove all the

features of 2003 without keeping a single installed file of 2003 and then later restart the system definitely so that some files can be removed only by the restart.

After restarting you install the 2010 type you are going to install and then install it then after the completion of installation a

suuccessful message is displayed and its not mandatory to restart the system but it is suggested to make a restart of your system.

–>create an administrator account and after log on launch the installer then if at all you are receiving error messages accessing

ProgramData folder, then you must have to use the registry TakeOwnership for taking the control of the complete program data folder.

–>For renaming the folder you need to click Start ->All programs – >Accessories->run->type " %Programdata% "  -> ok. Hence now

you will have to change the name “ Microsoft Help ” to “ Microsoft help.old ”.

Hope any one of the above may help you..

Thank you..:-)
