I want you to try these steps just hoping it may help:

Before fixing the ram slot, just make sure that it's not the RAM card that is faulty. Try to confirm it first. Once done, turn off your computer and unscrew the cover casing. Find the RAM Slot in its location and pull out the memory card, you need to inspect the RAM for any physical damages, wipe it with cloth or use an eraser scratch the tip of the card to clear away dusts. Place the RAM card again to its slot, then turn on the computer to see if its detected, if not, well, you have to refer it into the manufacturer if it's still in warranty, they might change your motherboard. Or just use your one memory slot and just upgrade you RAM card into a higher memory.

If there is some problem in your RAM then when you plug the RAM in your PC then you must hear some sound form the PC and see what type of beam is coming form your PC. If there is no beam sound from your PC then you need to check the RAM on each of slots one by one and in this process use a RAM on which you have sure that it is working properly. If there will be some problem then it will sound and then you need to check the motherboard but if there is no such sound then there may be some problem in your RAM so in this case also check your RAM on some other computer. If only one port is working then you can change your all RAM with a single RAM which will solve your problem. Also check for any BIOS up date you need to solve the problem. And make clean your RAM ports and RAM contacts to solve your problem you can use cleaning techniques to do this.

And i am sure your problem will be solved.
