Problem in opening flash drives

I recently plugged in my USB flashdrive on a computer at an internet shop and it worked well. When I was about to use it on my desktop at home, a dialogue box appeared which says something like  "The flashdrive on disk E is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"  What could be the problem? Do I really need to format my flashdrive? I don't want to lose the data I have saved in my storage device.

Hello there,

Whenever things like that happen to a USB flash drive, it only indicates that the drive is corrupted. You can try recovering the files with the help of these:

Or search for EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard utility

With these, you will be able to recover files in your USB drive. Make a backup of it and then reformat the flash drive after. By the way, try going back to the internet shop and see if the same computer that you used can still read it. If so, make a backup of all your files and then reformat it in your own computer.
