Hi experts,

A problem has occurred with my machine. I think this is the result of some corrupted program.

I tried to restore my system, but still, the error message is there –

System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer’s system files and settings were not changed.

The screenshot of the message is given below:

System Restore

System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer’s system files and settings were not changed.

Details:

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. (0x80070570)

You can try System Restore again and choose a different restore point. ft you continue to see this error, you can try an advanced recovery method. For more information, see What Is Recovery?

Run System Restore Close

Is it a serious problem? Please help me if you have any idea regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Julia,

Actually you understand the problem exactly and the real problem is the corrupt files which are installed in your computer. Now do follow these steps:

1. Go to the start menu, open the tab of accessories in programs.

2. Search out the tab of defragment and open it.

3. When you reached at the defragment window start defragment your C drive.

4. Then try to restore program again.

It helps you to restore your files. Otherwise the last option for you is to reinstall the window.

Thanks.

You can try few options:

If have any other restore points created try using a different one.

Start your system in safe mode then try the system restore again. In safe mode limited recourses are loaded so if any virus infection preventing your system restore safe mode might prevail it.

Start Windows by a clean boot. Below link shows you how to do it with windows 7.

If the above options didn’t work last option is to format your computer and install fresh copy of windows.
