There is problem in my computer’s on board  VGA port  after starting up windows, monitor screen starts flickering heavily and some times screen goes  of black , I tried another VGA card on PCI slot of motherboard its working fine no flickering and no screen black, computer works smoothly.

What will be the reason?

Hi

This could be a problem in the in-built video card as well as the vga port. The trouble could be that you set your display settings that is not supported by the video card. Try lowering the resolution and also the refresh rate in the display settings. Refresh rate should be 60 – 70 Hz.

You cannot rule out your monitor though. Momentary flickers and loss of brightness are signs that the monitor is in trouble. This is the case in old CRT monitors. This is health hazar for anyone who uses the monitor so consider buying an LCD monitor.
