Good evening,

I am trying integration of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Service 2007 with Crystal Reports, so that I can directly view the report within the portal.

Whenever I try to install Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Portal Integration Kit for Business Objects XI 3.1, the installation failed giving me the following error.

Error:

Fatal Error

Installation ended prematurely because of an error.

Installer Information

The enterprise .Net SDK feature of business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 must be installed before installing this software.

I try to find everywhere on the Microsoft forums and in the Google, but wasn’t succeeded in locating it. If anyone of you know how to solve this problem, do tell me. I’ll be very thankful to you.

My hardware is Intel Core i7 processor with 4 GB of RAM and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2. SharePoint Portal Server 2007.

Thanks.

Since there are some non-system applications running I would recommend you to install it in the Clean Boot state and check.

Enable a Clean Start:

Click Start, type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
User Account Control permission.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, Or click Continue.
On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup items check box.
Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
Click OK.

When you are prompted, click Restart.
After the computer starts, check whether the problem is resolved. If the issue is resolved check which third party is causing the problem, referring this link.
Install the software now and check. Reset the computer to start as usual.
After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual.
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
On the General tab, click the Normal Startup option, and then click OK.
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.

You need to update you .NET to solve this problem. Many programs use .NET  to manipulate through the program and use .NET  for this purpose. So you need to install it before you install a copy of SharePoint Portal Service.

You can install .NET Framework free from the internet you can search one that best suites and then can install to run your program if you have already installed .NET Framework then you can update it.

You can also download .NET  from Microsoft website one is available on this LINK. Go  to this link and install the .NET then install your program, and it will work fine, and there will be no problem in your installation.

In case your program does not run then try to install it on another PC and see is it working on that PC then you can check your software settings also to install this program.
