Hi experts

I have tried but cannot install Windows7 in my computer. When I try to load the CD, I get the following error:

"Windows fail to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
File:windowssystem32bootwinload.exe
Status: 0xc0000098
Info. The selected entry could not be loaded because of application is missing or corrupt.
How do I solve this error??  It’s a new copy of Windows7 and a brand new hard drive. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi

The problem you are facing is that the window you are installing is not accepted by your computer and your need to change this thing you need to install the window so for this:

1. The CD you are using is corrupt or have some files missing in it or there is error on the CD so you should see that and then replace the software CD and then install the software it will work and then your computer will start running the window and start installing it so make it sure that the CD should be replaced and if still this is not going to work then use USB to install the window it will easy and surely will install your window.

Before you decide to install Windows 7 on your computer, check your hardware first if it is compatible to run this operating system. In order to run Windows 7 you need a processor with at least 1 GHz minimum speed.

Much better if you have a multicore processor to have a smooth operation. This applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The 32-bit version of Windows 7 requires at least 1 GB RAM and the 64-bit version requires 2 GB. If you have more RAM then that is good for the system.

And of course, you require an optical drive for the installation using the Windows 7 installer disc.

Going back to the error you encountered while installing Windows 7. The kind of error you have, I think the cause of it is the installer disc and not a physical problem with your optical drive.

It is possible that the installer disc you acquired is kind of corrupted. You may want to replace the installer disc you have with another copy.

You may also try loading the installer disc on another computer to see if it will work there so you will know if you need to replace your optical drive or you need to upgrade some parts of your computer.

Thanks alot Iamexpert and Sharath Reddy. I did what you said, I checked the installation disc on other computers and it did not work properly as well. I went back to the store and have my disc replaced. Thank you so much. I was able to install the OS properly.

Thanks TechyV.
