I really need your help. I am trying to finish installing my video card but I can't seem to.Â
I tried to upgrade to an ATI driver but nothing seems to happen. It goes back to normal after starting up again. My computer is quite old, it's an Asus K8v-mx, with a 2 gigabyte memory. My monitor is an HD 4650 Radeon. What should I do?
Problem in Installing Video Card in Asus K8v-mx
Hi,
Â
What you referred to as the monitor is actually a graphics processing unit also known as a video card or graphics card. The Radeon HD 4650 uses a PCI Express x16 interface to get connected to the system.
Â
Looking at your motherboard’s specification reveals that it does not have a PCI Express x16 interface but instead has the older AGP interface. This effectively makes the graphics card unusable for your motherboard.
Â
Get a video card that uses an AGP connection, or upgrade your motherboard to be able to make use of that graphics card.
Â
Thank you. Hope this helps with your current predicament.
