3ds max is a big application not only that it is also a big problem. Your 3d max 2011 set in a DVD so if it cannot load files then copy and past all the files of that DVD to your hard drive. Then try to install from there. Remember do not auto run it can cause problems again. First restart your computer then do not start any other application just go to that file of 3ds max that contain file called “setup.exe” then double click on that and your problem will solve. At all steps go normally do not select custom setup.

When you are buying software, you must check the hardware and system requirements first. If it is tuned-up into your computer systems and hardware then buy it.

The key for this problem is to check the hardware and system requirements. If the system does not compatible with your hardware and operating system, do go further in troubleshooting. You will only wasting your time. If you can install the application lower than the requirements, you may encounter some problems in the middle of the operation.

If this is the only time you found out that the application is not compatible in your computer, you may call your software vendor to trade your copy.

Calling the online or phone support for your software may also help to solve your problem.

That error may mean you are installing an incompatible application. Check that your computer meets the requirements before installing Autodesk 3ds Max 2011. Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 supports Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (32-bit only), Windows Vista Business Service Pack 2, and Windows 7 Professional both 32-bit and 64-bit.

It requires 1.4 GHz or faster Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD processor, 2 GB RAM, video card with 256 MB video RAM, and 3 GB free space. Though Microsoft Windows 7 is supported, you need to be using the Professional edition. If you are using a different edition and not Professional then that verifies that your platform is not supported.

Since Microsoft Windows XP is supported, one workaround that might work is to run the installer or setup file in compatibility mode for Windows XP. To do this, right-click the Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 setup file then select “Properties”. In the “Properties” dialog, go to “Compatibility” tab then under “Compatibility mode” section, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and then select “Windows XP”.

Click “OK” then start the installer and see if it works. If this doesn’t work, another way is to install Oracle VirtualBox and create a virtual machine on your computer. On that virtual machine, install one of the supported operating systems mentioned above. After this, you may now install Autodesk 3ds Max 2011 on that virtual machine.
