Problem with the installation of MS-Office 2007 without the uninstaller

I faced a problem with the installation of MS-Office 2007. I had already installed MS-Office 2003 on my PC. Before installing MS-Office 2007 Professional, I used Office customization tool for adding a programme which was to be deleted before the installation of MS-Office Professional 2007. I added this under the option ‘add installations & run programs’, for removing the office compatibility pack before the installation of MS-Office 2007. But unfortunately, the MS-Office 2007 Professional could not be installed by this method.  The result was same w wwhen I tried with the batch file too. The compatibility pack could not get uninstalled as the uninstaller was not running. Can anyone help me in getting a solution to this problem?

It is usual problem of the Microsoft Office if you install the lower version and install the higher version. It is better to uninstall everything then have a fresh installation. If you want to completely uninstall the program of Microsoft Office you can go to control panel and go to "Add remove Programs" and  remove the Microsoft Office Suite. If you have trouble uninstalling using the control panel you can also use third party software to completely uninstall the software such as the "CCleaner" which is an open source software. If you uninstall the program you can also run registry cleaner to completely remove the application. Restart your computer so that the settings in the registry will be updated. Try now to install the Microsoft office and eventually it will now be installed.

Hello Callum,

It seems like you did a series of things which could have led to ms office 2007 refusing to be uninstalled. I will suggest that you try eliminating ms office 2007 by deleting all its contents from the program files before you uninstall it from the control panel.

Just locate the folder that has ms office 2007 under C://program files and then open it. Select all the contents of the folder by pressing control+A on the keyboard and the permanently delete them by pressing SHIFT+DEL on the keyboard. After go to the control panel and look for add/remove programs. Uninstall ms office 2007 from the list of programs.

Hope this helps.
