I have tried to install Yahoo Messenger on my personal computer. But it fails and gives me an error message.
Can anybody tell how to fix this problem?

Ensure that you have the latest Yahoo Messenger installer. Some problems with installation can be caused by a corrupt installation file or an older installer that isn't compatible with your Operating System.
Visit Yahoo Messenger home page and download the latest version of the Yahoo Messenger installer, then try to install the program again.

This problem seems to have some compatibility issue between your computer and the Yahoo Messenger you are using. Are you trying to install the beta version? Most of the time it happens that beta version doesn't work well. Try using a stable version. The last stable version for Yahoo is 8.1.
If even switching to stable version doesn't solve your problem, get another older version or the last version which worked on your computer. You can find the entire version from below link:
Don't forget to uninstall the current copy of Yahoo Messenger before switching back to older version.
