Problem connecting laptop cable with my televison HDMI port

Hi there! I am having a problem connecting my laptop to the television using an HDMI cable. I was actually able to do it before but now it has stopped working. Whenever I connect the laptop to the TV using the HDMI cable, the laptop screen would just go blank like it isn’t receiving signal; the TV would not respond either. I tried disconnecting the cable but the laptop screen would still remain blank and I would have to keep on turning it ON and OFF just so it would start again. I tried updating my drivers but I didn’t get any results. I also have the Uniblue Driver Scanner but it doesn’t detect any update for the drivers. Can you explain to me what could be wrong? I am looking forward to your response. Thank you.

A TV Card just has need to configure with your laptop then you are to be connected through your HDMI cable to your television. You can  also use a router between your laptop and to your television.Without a TV Card or a router your laptop will not work properly. You shouldn't disconnecting the cable at all.You must check the ON/OFF switch of your laptop and your television or your laptop's battery is low in volt.Or the charge of your laptop is insufficient and disable to show the software menu's on the monitor. This is not the problem of laptop drivers. You may install a TV driver from a driver CD into your computer.
