Hello, If you have bought bitdefender 14 antivirus software you will have the original serial number. I think at the time of installation of the antivirus software you use invalid serial key. For that, when the software is downloading updates, the serial number is not working. If you are using the free version of Bitdefender, it shouldn’t require any serial number especially during updating. But if you are using the paid version or premium version, this is when a serial number is required. In the paid or premium version, the antivirus or security program is running on a subscription-basis. This means the program will work as long as the subscription is active.
When the time comes and the subscription has ended, so is your antivirus. It will also stop functioning and you will no longer be able to update it. This is probably what’s happening with your program. To make the antivirus active and work again, you have to purchase another subscription or renew your subscription. This will allow you to update the program again.
If you can’t renew your subscription, you have to uninstall the antivirus because it will no longer protect your computer. One workaround to this is to install the free version. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your Bitdefender antivirus among the applications and click “Uninstall”.
