Hi there,

Ran into an interesting problem today with Windows 8, Printers, and CNames. I have Windows 2008R2 print server and when Windows 8 clients would attempt to connect to a printer via the AD Directory they have this error. How can I solve this error ? I double check every setting, why is not working ?

Regards expert !

Printers

Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000709).

Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.

Hello,

It sounds like you’re having a trouble with your “Print Spooler” service. Make sure that the service is running and set to start automatically while Windows loads.

1. From Start menu, type “Services” >> hit Enter.

2. Scroll down and find out “Print Spooler”.

3. From “Startup type”, select “Automatic”.

4. Click “Start” on the “Service status” to start the service.

5. Press “OK”.

Also, make sure that the printer you’re using have the right driver.

Start Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows

Make sure that “System”, the current user and “Administrator” have the full control over the key. Learn how to take full control of registry key.

Now, your problem should have solved.
