Hi Mr. Hudson,

Everybody knows accessing to the audio and USB port affects the organization's productivity. There are different ways to prevent an unauthorized data transfer. You can disable the audio and USB port by changing the BIOS settings and then lock the BIOS using password.
Please find the below mentioned steps in order to disable the access of audio and USB port.
1.Start the system.
2.Press the delete key on the keyboard. The BIOS main menu page appears.(Note different systems have different options in order to enter BIOS main menu).Follow the PC's Motherboard manual book.
3.Browse to Integrated Peripherals and press enter. The Integrated peripheral page will be opened.
4.Now select Azalia Codec option and make it disabled.
5.Select USB and USB 2.0 controller option and make it disabled.

Now to set the supervisor and user password go to the BIOS main menu page.
6.Browse to set supervisor password and press enter.
7.Enter the password twice.
8.Select User password and press enter.
9.The system prompts you to re-enter the password.
10.Re-enter the password and press enter.
11.Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.
Note: Provide the user password to the user for accessing to the system and keep the supervisor password with the Administrator.User can use this password for accessing the system and see the BIOS settings in view only mode and cannot change the settings.

Hi Peter

Another way is to ask your network admin to set the user accounts access so that the user cant play with settings or device manager, then disabling the sound and usb in device manager.

Here is how to disable them in device manager.

1. Right Click on My Computer and click on properties
2.1 (for xp) Under the hardware tab click on device manager.
2.2 (for windows 7) Click on device manager.
3. Look for the sound and usb dropdowns once you find the device (eg. sound card and USB root hubs) right click them and click disable, one at a time and be sure to get them all.

Thats it and have a wonderful day.
