I don't know what has gone wrong, is it my CD or is it my system? When I try to install Ubuntu on my system, the installation process freezes at 'Preparing to Install'. This has happened to me before while I was trying to install Linux Console and today, it has happened once again while I'm trying to install Ubuntu over Windows 7. How can I fix this?

The instructions on installing Ubuntu on windows helped a lot for Ubuntu 14.04 version. The windows are upgrading to Windows 8.1 there may a few challenges have brought to the table.
Last week I tried to play around with dual booting Ubuntu 14.04 and windows 8.1.It works. The backup devices are advised to use Macrium reflect for system images.
The USB has been created using create a UEFI bootable drive.
If we create recovery files we need an external hard disk and copy it to another drive and we don't have no guarantee for windows 8.1 operating system. But still recognize it.
