Good Morning,

This morning I am here where this new issue I have Oracle database with SQL server installed on my PC.

I was just using power pivot for Excel to when I received this error.

IT has been working just fine, but just this morning when I turned my PC on it gave me the error.

I am not familiar to this error and neither much it power pivot for excel.

So if there is anyone who knows why this error is shown up and why the connection to the server is failed though the SQL server is running well and the database I attached to it. I have checked it through SQL Enterprise manager, but everything is just working fine.

So in short I need this problem to be solved as soon as possible. Please share your views.

The reason you receive an ORA-12154 vs. an ORA-6413 is mostly due to which programmatic interface you have selected to routine vise to connect to Oracle.

Legacy API calls is made when The ORA-6413 is typically using older interface such as Oracle's OCI Version 7 API:

Microsoft ODBC Driver Provide Oracle Solution for Oracle Microsoft OLE DB

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Start the application directory paths using the short name version. DTS Wizard in SQL Server 2005 for example, using the command prompt, run:

C: PROGRA ~ 2 Microsoft SQL Server 90 DTS Binn dtswizard.exe

Oracle Database work is very good. The software install is very hard it install very carefully.

If you have install Oracle Database on your PC.

I remind you could not face this problem. But you face some problem so i can say that your Database program have problem, it have some missing so you can change your Database program and install new Database program.

I remind then you have no problem.

Hi there user:

The path of application that propels the connection contains parenthesis. That’s why the provider couldn’t connect. Be patient to contact the Oracle, and at the same time, get the patches for client drivers that could get you off this issue. The database software and client are required to be patched, to fix this issue. Although it may sound a bit long to wait, at least it’ll be sure.

Good thing the patch is now available for these versions 9.2.0.7 and 10.2.0.1.

I will give you this free to sign-up link https://login.oracle.com/mysso/signon.jsp

Feel free to post again just in case this couldn’t work

Best regards,
