Hello,

Last night I experienced Buffer Overruns(message mentioned below) with Word 2007 documents.

I never came across the error when Office 2003 was installed in my PC.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Buffer overrun detected!

Program:…rogrammiMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11WINWORD.EXE

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

This is a very disturbing error, So I edited some of the documents with the help of a friend in Office XP UK on his computer.

Even  after some research work,we were unable to counter the problem.

Please help as soon as possible?

Thanks in advance!

The problems occurs because some installation file is missing. This may ask you for the MS Office CD. But here is another solution even if the updates in Office Update Website doesn’t solve your problem.

Assuming that English is the Language of Word Document. So find the following file:

MSGR3EN.DLL (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedPROOF1033)

And if there is anyother language find the appropriate file like:

MSGR3GE.DLL (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedPROOF1031) [German]

MSGR3FR.DLL (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedPROOF1036) [French]

MSGRNL32.DLL (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedPROOF1043) [Dutch]

– Rename msgr3en.dll as msgr3en.dll.old

– Go to Word menu Tools > Options > Grammar and spelling

and uncheck the “Check grammar” and “Check spelling” boxes

– Go to Tools > Autocorrect options > Smart tag

and uncheck the “Label data with smart tag” box.

Good Luck.
