Harvest made as EST database viewing software. For the following organisms HarvEST is available now.
  • Barley
  • Brachyposium
  • Cassava
  • Citrus
  • Coffee
  • Cow pea
  • Musa (Banana/plantain)
  • Soybean
  • Rice & 
  • Wheat.
Harvest made as EST database viewing software
Harv EST supports:
  1. Gene function
  2. Oligonucleotide design
  3. Microarray design
  4. SNP Identification.
  5. Genotyping design.
  6. Comparative genomics and 
  7. Coupling of physical & genetic maps.
Not all functions are available online because of that for online functionality it is slower than Windows.

This is software that was in the beginning meant for viewing databases. The University of California Riverside is its origin and the creators of this Tool are: Steve Wanamaker and Timothy Close

Some functions of the Tool Harvest Database are designed (microarray content and genotyping platform)
