Hello,

I'm trying to play the video in the screenshot and it behaves like the Play button is useless.

Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.

The strange thing is that it worked before, like a month ago, and now I don't know what changed.

Please help me.

Hi Brandycarrie,

It seems like the add-on - window media player for IE is corrupted. This happens when add-on was created for any earlier version of IE and now your IE is upgraded to the latest version and add-on is not compatible with the current version. Another possibility is some programming error occurred.

What you can do to solve this issue is disable add-ons, for which you can follow these steps -

  1. Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools.
  2. Click on Manage Add-ons from Tools drop down.
  3. Select Window media player from the list and click Disable against it.

As you are saying it worked for you earlier, Try system restore to the date when it worked without any issue.
