My dad was talking with my uncle last month.

They were discussing a certain topic that attracts me to listen. Is it possible to convert you phone's camera into a webcam?

I don't want to think that he's wrong, but I need an expert to answer this.

If this is possible it could help me save money then how will I make it?

Here is good news for you. Yes you can do it easily and it will work fine. Converting your phone camera to a web cam is easy task if you have WWIGO. WWIGO (webcam wherever I go) is software with which you can do this easily. Just download the software and run it. You can download this software here:

WWIGO (Webcam Wherever I Go) 1.4

Just install the software and start using your mobile phone as webcam. However you should have a Symbian OS phone to use this software. Yahoo messenger, Hotmail messenger and Skype are well supported by this software.

Hope this works well with you also.

Yes, that’s possible with the help of an Android app that turns your Android Smartphone into a webcam and linking your Smartphone with your computer via Wi-Fi. To do this, on your phone, download DroidCam Wireless Webcam. There are two versions of the app: the free version and the Pro version.

The free version contains ads and might display a horrible video feed like what most users have experienced. The Pro version doesn’t have ads and supports high resolution video output up to 720p in HD Mode. Once the app is installed, on your computer, download DroidCam Windows Client and unpack “DroidCam.Client.6.0.FullOffline.zip” using WinZip, WinRAR, or 7-Zip. Once unpacked, double-click “DroidCam.Client.6.0.exe” to install it then follow the instructions.

When you are prompted to install the driver software called “DEV47 APPS”, click to install it. Once the client is installed, on your Smartphone, start the DroidCam Wireless Webcam app you just installed then tap “Next” and then “Got it”. Your screen should now display your Wi-Fi IP address and the port number.

Next, on your computer, start the DroidCam client then under “Connect over WiFi (LAN)” in “Device IP”, enter the Wi-Fi IP address displayed on your phone and the port number in “DroidCam Port”. Make sure “Video” and “Audio” are checked then click “Start” to initiate the video feed.

If you are using the free version, expect that the video feed is not so good. If you want the best video quality, upgrade to the Pro version. Note: make sure your phone is connected to your Wi-Fi network to make this work.
