The camera on my phone will not work. It keeps freezing on me when I go to use it. I've tried deleting some pictures and also deleting apps but I can't seem to get it to work. I have a Galaxy S4. Suggestions or advice to troubleshoot this problem? I really would like to have a functional camera on my phone but I have no idea what could be causing this or what I could do to fix it?
Phone camera will not work
Option 1 – Clear your camera cache

Click on Settings > Application Manager

Swipe left twice and choose All

Scroll down the camera and tap on it to open it

Tap on Force Close, Clear Cache and the Clear Data

Reboot your phone
Option 2 – if your camera displays a blank screen whenever it’s opened:

Pull out the battery of your phone

Re-insert the batter and press the power button

Open the camera
-
If this doesn’t work, switch the phone off, and while holding the power button tape the Menu button continuously

Choose to power the phone on in Safe Mode and open the camera

If the camera is now responding, try uninstalling any app that was recently installed
Option 3 – Factory reset your phone

Make a backup of your phone as all data will be lost

Go to the Settings option on your phone and tap on Accounts

Tap Reset > Factory Reset and select Delete All
