PCIe Training Error: Integrated RAID

Hello Margaret

This error occurs mainly due to faults in the following parts

(a) PERC5 controller

(b) PCIe risers

(c) Backplane.

Initial fault testing can be done by removing all the raid drives and then seating them back again. If this does not solve your issue, then consider replacing all these one by one till the problem vanishes away. If you do not have spares then probably this is the right time to stock your inventory for these parts.

The full error reads:

“PCIe Training Error: Integrated RAID. System halted!”

When you encounter this error, the system will not boot and you will receive the message above. This problem was encountered on Dell R620 Security Analytics server. The cause of the problem is one of the following components which may have failed:

  • The slot on the motherboard that the RAID controller uses.
  • The internal RAID controller.

The only workaround, according to broadcom.com’s support page, is to try to reseat the internal RAID controller and see if that helps. If the problem continues, you should contact Blue Coat Support for assistance with a hardware RMA.
