I have installed a PCI sound card on my system but it does not seem to function, I have tried trouble shooting but it still does not work. Instead the sound still is channeled to the internal sound card and i have tried to switch this off but it does not seem to function. How can I channel my sound to the PCI device alone?

Alternatively, download driver pack solution And run it, it will scan for missing drivers and install them. It will save you the hustle of browsing searching for the drivers which sometimes can be had to find.
