PC reboots when iPHONE is plugged in

I was using my computer when we had a power outage. Now that the power is back, I turned it on again but the computer reboots every time I plug in my iPhone to it. I don’t know what is going on. I tried unplugging the iPhone and turned the PC off and on but still not working. I am afraid that maybe the problem is on my PC. I hope not ,because I cannot afford to buy a new one at the moment and I might need to correct some configurations only.

Any solutions you might have are greatly appreciated?

If your computer restarts after connecting with the iPhone then you can uninstall the Apple Mobile Device Driver and then reinstall it and check whether the problem persists. For uninstalling the driver, you can select the start button and then select the Control Panel. From the Control Panel you can select the Device Manager. Then in the Device Manager you can find the Apple Mobile Device Driver. You can select it and then right click and select Uninstall Driver. This will uninstall the driver. You can then restart the computer and then reinstall the driver by inserting the CD for the driver.

You may also install the latest version of the driver by downloading it from the website of Apple. Then you can uninstall the old driver as described above and the restart your computer. After that you can install the new version of the driver that you have downloaded from the website. Then you can check whether the problem has been resolved. You can also try to update the driver from the Device Manager. For updating the driver you can select the Start Button and then select the Control Panel. From the Control Panel you can select the Device Manager. Then in the Device Manager you can find the Apple Mobile Device Driver. You can select it and then right click and select update driver. Then you can check whether the problem is resolved.

You may also update your operating system. For updating your operating system, you can select Start Button and then you can select Control Panel. In the Control Panel you can select Windows Update and then you can select check for updates. Then it will show the available updates. You can select the important updates and then select the install updates. After that you can restart your computer for completing the updates. Then you can check whether the problem is resolved.

One other option is you can uninstall the USB drivers on your computer and then reinstall it. For uninstalling the driver you can select the Start Button and then select the Control Panel. From the Control Panel you can select the Device Manager. Then in the Device Manager you can find the USB Port Device Driver. You can select it and then right click and select uninstall driver. Then again you can reinstall it. You may also try to update the device driver for USB from the Device Manager. You can open the Device Manager and then select the USB port and then right click and select Update Driver. Then you can check whether the problem is resolved. You may also try to connect the iPhone to some other computer and check whether the problem exists in that computer also. You may also scan it using some latest version of a good antivirus software and make sure that it is not affected by any virus. Because virus can also some times cause the same problem. If any virus is found then you can delete it and check whether the problem is resolved.

If your computer has a webcam, it can go into conflict with the IPHONE. Check for driver updates of your webcam and retry to connect the iPhone. If you want to do a quick test, shut down the webcam with your laptop special keys and connect the phone.

Someone has reported that if you delete the photos on the iPhone the computer stops rebooting.

The issue seems too strange to acknowledge but when you connect the iPhone to a windows PC for the first time, it installs the webcam driver.

If the problem started after the power outage, try booting your computer using the last known good configuration. When you boot your computer using this setting, the operating system will try to boot the machine using the most recent settings that worked. To try this, restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears.

In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, scroll down and select “Last known good configuration” then hit Enter to boot the computer. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try using the System File Checker utility. On your computer, press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type without quotes “cmd” then hit Enter.

In the command prompt window, type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. Insert your Windows setup CD or DVD when you are prompted then continue. Wait until the process is complete. When it is finished, close the command prompt then restart the computer. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try uninstalling iTunes and reinstall it. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it.

Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select iTunes among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller and install iTunes back or download the latest iTunes.

Try again then see if it works.
