Nero Burning ROM or simply Nero is an optical disc authoring application used for burning and copying optical discs like CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays developed by Nero AG. This application is normally part of the Nero Multimedia Suite but is also available as a standalone product. The application also support label printing technologies LabelFlash and LightScribe as well as convert audio files into other audio formats.

Nero is only available for Microsoft Windows. A version of Nero that was compatible with Linux was available from 2005 until 2012 but has since been discontinued. In Nero 2015, a new feature called “Nero AirBurn” allows users to burn media directly from their mobile devices. With Nero, you can create different media formats like:

• Audio CD discs
